For portraiture, my inspiration for taking and editing photographs were Victor Bezrukov, Francesca Woodman and Andy Warhol.
I implemented colorful images (in the style of Andy Warhol) onto buildings, as shown by red blocks. The red blocks will infuse into photographs I individually took in the style of James Maher. James Maher is a portraiture artist however I used his building photographs to inspire my piece. |
My final piece resulted successfully. I kept my initial idea of the contrasting elements such as the city being colourful and vibrant whereas the underlying is dark and death related, as emphasized by gravestones that I drew myself, instead of using stock images, to make my piece completely original.
I went ahead with applying my images in the style of Andy Warhol onto the buildings and black and white images in the style of Victor Bezrukov and Francesca Woodman onto the headstones resembling graves. I have used a grey felt material to exaggerate the fact that it is gravel separating the two components. In addition, I apprehended my own photos in the style of James Maher for my city landscape. |
